11/19/2023 0 Comments Buy pro tools perpetual![]() Eucon and networking protocol versions should be subscription based. They need to stop this BS and just focus on getting money through upgrading, plug-ins, and add-ons for the non HD or hardware systems. Those are the users who NEED the subscription model as it makes business sense and is easier to manage. Why can't they just have different versions of the software with limitations for users only needing 32 tracks or something similar? I only run non-HD systems now that do not require special commercial equipment. This new business model is pushing the little guys away and they are only catering to professional business users. The Pro Tools side of AVID has been VERY profitable. I have worked in IT and purchasing for a fortune 1000 company and I know the pricing of the video side as well but those are large companies with large revenues. Looking back on all of the money I spent on Pro-Tools from 1993 I am roughly $12K in! That is approximately $444.44 dollars a year without a subscription. You have no idea! Selling same software with minor updating for decades with the same old plugins for ages. THis will probably happen in a few years"Īvid Definitely got rich on their PT users. but by making it an increasingly bad option, they can put the blame on customers for not buying in to it and then finally phase it out so it looks like its not their fault, because "there is no demand". if they outright get rid of perpetual, people will be up in arms. Then pro-tools-expert will show us a chart why perpetual is more expensive (sponsored by Avid) than subscription and why they are phasing out perpetual without recognizing that they themselves literally, again, doubled the price of a renewal for perpetual users. ![]() double the prices of a perpetual renewal, make it worse pricing, then blame people not buying because there was no demand. "no ones asking it to be free, we just dont want our prices doubled to renew like they literally did this year. So what do you get? Eventually now they (AVID) wont be at fault for eventually removing perpetual, they'll blame it on the users for "no demand" this way they can let perpetual in the future down slowly. Quite literally, they are slowly making perpetual a worse option on purpose by increasing prices and removing our choices. They have made perpetual owners begin with a disadvantage anyway. Your math is EXACTLY what Avid is gonna say, is gonna promote, and is gonna make hte userbase say but you forget they literally DOUBLED and fucked everyPERPETUAL owner over this year by also removing reinstatement plans (which were EXPENSIVE in the first place anyway). u/Apag78, I do have an argument as well to latch on. r/MixClub /r/ListenToThis /r/Music /r/RadioReddit /r/LearnMusic /r/Reasoners /r/AudioPost /r/GameAudio /r/RateMyAudio /r/StudioPorn /r/SFXLibraries Pro Tools Operating System Compatibility ChartĬomputer Optimization and Troubleshooting Guides - Mac and Windows Pro Tools product line feature set comparison As the site guidelines and their notices tell you, be sure to read the sub rules before participating Feature/Sticky Post Schedule DayĬontent Creation Station - for Evals and Self-Promotion Whether it is yours or theirs, there are no allowable exceptions or appealable circumstances.
