I struggled using a bluetooth app on my phone to connect but pc software worked. Why I was unable to get signal from car socket on Bluetooth reader and hand fault reader? I'm just saying what I was told or learn by myself. Socket could be and by looks it's OBD II but I never was able to get connection and reads any faults on OBD II multiscaner on mine and from that what I know OBD II standard was fully implemented from Mk4 V80/90 chasis code in commonrail 3.2 4M41 engine, all earliest Mk3 3.2 4M41 DiD td V60/70 chasis code need to be plug in to MUT II code reader. Īs far as I know only socket looks like OBD II but it's not any Mk3 3.2 4M41 will need MUT protocol to work, exception is a US version (Montero) as they have different cpu software implementation so it will connect with all OBD II readersĪs you say it's a Shogun, I presume made for the Euro market and therefore obd mandatory since 2003. It needs to be MUTT (or something like that ) software. The diagnostic tool works fine on other cars I've tested.Įven though it's an OBD2 socket. Thanks, the seller has guaranteed it to work and Mitsubishi have also confirmed it OBD2. Could't get an ios app to connect though. Got a bluetooth on for under a fiver and came with free pc software that works but is limited to what it can read. The mitsi scan tool used the same type of plug I believe hence why it will fit in but not register.Īnything over 2004 in a diesel should be obd so i've read somewhere after doing some research on getting a reader for mine. I don't think the port was obd11 compatible until the gen 4.
